Note: Screenshots are the most convenient and simplest way of showing part of your screen to your readers or clients in a clear and concise manner. It’s created by an application software running in Operating Systems like Windows 7, 8, 10, Android and iOS or by pressing a combination of keys on the keyboard.īefore we delve deeper into the screenshot tools, it’s prudent to ask ourselves: Why are screenshots important? So, what is a screenshot?Ī screenshot is a digital image of a monitor or part of a PC monitor. Modern PCs using Windows 7, 8, 10 and other operating systems like Mac and Linux come equipped with inbuilt tools for taking screenshots. Since the advent of Windows Vista Operating System, the screenshot feature has come in handy and remains the most convenient way of capturing and saving a picture on your desktop. In the recent past, the use of screenshots has gained popularity as a quick and convenient way of communicating ideas and illustrations. Visual communication has become the preferred choice of putting a message across in a clear and succinct manner. You can follow the above steps to add your own shortcuts for different screenshot modes, recording videos, uploading the content, opening the built-in image editor, color picker, etc.Now, more than ever, there’s been an increase in the use of text and images methods to convey a message to people. So, if you're using the default settings, every time you want to take a delayed snapshot, you will have to use the tray menu, set the screenshot delay and then use the capture menu to select your capture mode, e.g. You may have noticed that ShareX does not come with a default hotkey for capturing timed shortcuts.
